Opposition leader opposes local govt polls
Election Commission announced the poll schedule in hurry, Khurshid Shah said.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Leader of the opposition Syed Khurshid Shah has opposed local government elections, saying that preparation of ballot papers from private printing press is unacceptable.
Addressing the National Assembly today (Thursday), Khurshid Shah said this process will raise question mark on the credibility of the Election Commission.
He said holding local bodies elections is a political issue and it should be handled politically.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also backed the opposition leader, saying that schedule given by the Election Commission for Local Bodies elections is not implementable as the provinces have to undergo delimitation of constituencies.
