Oil price hike: SHC seeks reply from OGRA, govt

Raise in prices of petroleum products have become a routine matter for the government.

 

KARACHI (Dunya News) Sindh High Court has sought an explanation from OGRA and federal government regarding hike in petroleum prices till September 24.


Division bench comprising SHC Justice Muneeb Akhter and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan heard the writ petition filed by petitioner Faizul Hassan who took stance that current raise in prices of petroleum products is not only exploitation of the poor masses but also against the law and the constitution as it (hike in petroleum prices) is absolutely illegal and unconstitutional.


While accepting the petitioner, the court has sought an explanation from the OGRA and the federal government in this regard till September 24.
