Punjab Assembly: Local Government Bill to be tabled today
The Punjab Local Government Bill will be introduced today in the Punjab Assembly.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – After approval from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab government is all set to present Punjab Local Government Bill in the provincial assembly today (Thursday).
According to sources, in the new system the election of councilors will be held on non-party basis while all other steps after that would be taken on party basis.
There are also proposals to establish separate authorities for education and health sectors and forming reconciliation councils to resolve disputes at local levels.
