Lawyers observe strike against killings, kidnappings

Lawyers are observing a strike on the appeal of the Pakistan Bar Council.

 

KARACHI (Online): The legal fraternity observed strike in the Higher and lower courts Monday against killing of several lawyers and abduction of Balochistan’s former advocate general.

 

The lawyer of Sindh High Court, City Court, Malir court and subordinate courts haves boycotted work due to which scores of proceeding cases are pending causing dififuclties for litigates.

 

A senior lawyer said that former advocate general Mir Salahuddin Mengal was kidnapped from Quetta on April 16 and his whereabouts are still unknown.

 

He said senior lawyer Basharatullah Khan along with witnesses was killed in Islamabad, while two others lawyers were attacked in Lahore.

 

The lawyers of Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Quetta including other areas are also on strike.
