316 missing persons traced, 363 cases pending, SC told

The Missing Persons Commission submitted its interim report in the Supreme Court.

 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News):- According to the commission, about 1011 people were reportedly missing out of whom the commission succeeded in tracing 316 while 363 cases in this regard are yet pending due to lack of man power in courts.

 

The report further said that 378 cases regarding missing persons were disposed of while 62 were set aside due to non availability of sufficient evidence.

 

According to report, the commission received 281 cases from Punjab out of which 137 were disposed of while 148 are yet in limbo.

 

The commission received 124 cases from Sindh and 400 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. So far as cases from Sindh are concerned, 24 have been disposed while 100 are under consideration. The commission could settle 125 cases from KP while remaining cases are yet to be decided.

 

In the same way cases received from FATA, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan have been partly disposed of while remaining are being dealt properly and with the passage of time those would also be disposed of as well.
