Deserted Sindh mourns Karachi victims

The lawyers are observing mourning day across the country on the call of Pakistan Bar Council.


KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Government of Sindh and Punjab are observing a day of mourning against the bombing incident that left 45 people dead while injured 135 others.

 

The Sindh government, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen decided to observe a day of mourning on Monday for the victims of the tragedy.

 

In Sindh, national flags were seen at half-mast on all the government buildings. All education institutes, markets and business outlets were shut against the blast in Karachi.

 

The lawyers also observed mourning day across the country on the call of Pakistan Bar Council. 

 

All political and religious parties condemned the blast and offered condolences to the families of the victims. A session of provincial assembly, scheduled for today, has also been postponed.

 

A powerful blast occurred in a residential plaza in Abbas Town near Abul Hassan Isfahani Road on Sunday evening, killing 45 people while injuring 135 others.
