Bilawal to meet Punjab PPP MPs, office bearers

PPP Chairman will evaluate PPPs position in Punjab in the context of upcoming elections.

 

LAHORE: According to sources Bilawal Bhutto will start meetings with PPP leaders and MPAs and MNAs from February 11, when he will meet PPP MPs and office bearers from Faisalabad Division.


Similarly, the office bearers and MPs from Gujranwala, Sarghoda and Sahiwal will call on PPP Chairman on February 12, 13 and 15 respectively.

 

It has also been learnt that a team of experts will guide PPP Chairman about the political culture of Punjab.
Earlier President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday visited the residence of Federal Minister for National Integration and Heritage Samina Khalid Ghurki in Lahore who had hosted lunch for the President.

 

The President was also accompanied by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

 

Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that during the meeting at lunch‚ matters relating to the Ministry of National Integration and Heritage were also discussed.

 

The President appreciated the contributions of Ghurki family for the community welfare projects and other social services.

 

He said that the husband of the Minister late Khalid Ghurki was a parliamentarian and former Town Nazim of Wagah Town‚ Lahore. He had always remained at the forefront in serving the people of the area and made great contributions towards democracy.


Speaking on the occasion‚ Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said no one will be allowed to create hurdles in the way of holding general elections well in time.


Bilawal said it was People Party which cleaned the constitution from the amendment of dictators and restored in its original form.


He said PPP took those step which could not be even thought by those who enjoyed heavy mandate.


The PPP Chairman also discussed party affairs and political situation with the federal Minister with particular focus on Lahore. They also discussed possible candidate to be fielded from Lahore in the next general elections.
