Gilgit: Terrorism bid in District Jail foiled

An attempt to smuggle a hand grenade and a pistol into Gilgit District Jail has been foiled.

 

According to details, FC officials recovered a hand grenade, one 30-bore pistol and ten bullets from a fruit crate which was brought into District Jail, Gilgit for a prisoner who is on death penalty.

 

A barber working at the District Jail, Muhammad Ilyas, and police constable Jahangir brought the fruit crate for the prisoner. FC Officials have arrested both the accused.

 

Meanwhile, two FC officials, Gulbar Khan and Ghazi Gul were awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each for their good performance.
