Malik orders special security measures for CEC

Interior Minister says the Chief Election Commissioner would be provided unpenetrated stories.


ISLAMABAD:-Speaking to media after presiding over a special meeting on Thursday, he said that the Election Commission of Pakistan had informed the interior ministry through a letter about threats to the CEC.


He said that all the provincial governments had been directed to provide special security to the provincial election commissioners and heads of political parties.


Commenting on Wednesday blast in Karachi, he said that had a bomb planted in a taxi exploded, there would have been massive destruction.


He accused proscribed Sipah-e-Sahaba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Jaish-e-Muhammad of aggravating law and order situation in Karachi. Malik said that Pakistan would release 27 Indian fishermen soon.
