Outgoing National Assembly held first-ever farewell photo session on Wednesday.

 

ISLAMABAD: For the first time ever in democratic history of Pakistan, an Assembly completing its full constitutional tenure, held a farewell photo session.

 

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Speaker N.A, and opposition leader alongwith majority of MNAs, sans MQM and ANP’s Asfandyar Wali, held a joint farewell photo session; at the front of Parliament House gate No 1.

 

A special red carpet was laid for the auspicious occasion, whence the first row was occupied by major luminaries like Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Speaker Dr. Fehmida Mirza, opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, JUI-F Ameer, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, senior PML-N leader Sardar Mehtab Abassi and senior ministers.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister and Speaker said that democracy would bring stability, besides ensuring socio-economic development to the Country.

 

Opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan termed it as a prudent and good tradition, fully in accordance with wishes of opposition.
