Nowshehra: Locals refuse to administer polio drops to children
The residents of the area barred the workers to continue vaccination in the area.
NOWSHERA: The locals of Wazir Garhi area refused to administer the anti-polio drops to their children until the government takes effective steps to resolve the other issues of the area, Dunya News reported on Friday.
Wazir Garhi comes under the constituency of provincial information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain.
The residents of the area barred the workers to continue vaccination in the area.
On December 19, a female worker of polio team was targeted in a village of Nowshehra after which the health workers boycotted the campaign in the district.
The current team comprised volunteers and teachers.
Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner has contacted the representatives of the district for talks.
