Power shortfall reaches up to 4500 MW

The electricity shortfall in the country has reached up to 4500 megawatt (MW).

 

Electricity shortfall has surged up to 4500 megawatt (MW) after cut in power production of hydel and furnace oil power plants.

 

Due to the shortfall the power outage reached fourteen hours to sixteen hours both in urban and rural areas across the country.

 

Sources in the Ministry of Water and Power informed that decrease in electricity was occurred due to technical fault in hydel power plants and shortage of furnace oil.

 

It is expected that electricity shortfall may increase in the upcoming days.
