The court has ordered PIA to pay 35,000 pounds to Travel Agents as fuel surcharge commission.

London High Court has ordered Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to pay £35,000 to Travel Agents as fuel surcharge commission within 21 days.

The court also dismissed the appeal of national flag carrier, in which PIA had contended that fuel surcharge is government tax and it could not provide commission on it.

The travel agents had pleaded in the London High Court that PIA was not providing them commission on fuel surcharge.

The court observed that fuel surcharge is not a government tax as claimed by PIA, therefore, commission on it should be provided to the travel agents.
