PCNS call for US apology not Govt's stance: Rabbani

Senator Raza Rabbani says PCNS report on Pak-US ties in not viewpoint of the government of Pakistan.

Addressing a PILDAT function in Islamabad, Raza Rabbani, who headed the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS), said the report has been presented in the parliament for discussion, amendment and final approval.He said that civil and military relations have improved, yet the balance continues to elude. He said the parliamentarians would have to play their role to introduce a balance between civil and military relations.Rabbani said legislation can be done in order to improve working of secret agencies.Speaking on the occasion, Mushahid Hussain said food safety, terrorism and natural disasters should also be made national security subjects.The PCNS report, presented in the joint session of parliament the other day, called on the US to tender unconditional apology to Pakistan for Nato attack on Salala check posts, and end drone strikes.
