(Dunya News) – In a bid to connect local artists to the world, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first online gallery was inaugurated on Tuesday in Peshawar.

Through just one click, art lovers across the globe can access art by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local artists.

The initiative by the department of Culture, which employed technology to provide local art a larger platform, was appreciated by artists.

“It will become very convenient for artists to reach out to the rest of the community to promote their art,” said one of the artists at the launching ceremony of the online gallery.

Though, artists also hoped that the government would also make efforts to establish a real art gallery.

“There isn’t a single art gallery here for the past three decades, no exhibition hall where artists can exhibit their work,” said another guest at the ceremony.

Famous poet and writer Abaseen Yousafzai said that unfortunately while the society was suitable for art, it wasn’t as encouraging for artists.
