There is no truth to rumours about my decision to retire
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman dispels rumours about any decision to bid goodbye to cricket.
A statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) quoted Fakhar Zaman as having said there was no truth to news about his retirement.
“There is no truth to rumours about my decision to retire, take a break or move abroad,” the star cricketer said.
He said he was recovering from injury and would soon resume the game and be part of the national team.
In his message to fans, he said doctors had advised him to resume game after three weeks and he would do so within a month.
He said he was very excited about participating in the Champions Trophy but the pain made it difficult for him to continue.
“Had I opened the innings against New Zealand, things might have been different,” said Zaman, who is optimistic about his return to the team sooner than later.
