TikToker Amna Baig arrested for celebratory firing in Karachi

(Web Desk) - TikToker Amna Baig has been arrested by Karachi police after a video of her firing a weapon into the air during Independence Day celebrations went viral, drawing strong public backlash.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on August 14 in Korangi. In the video, Amna is seen firing celebratory gunshots into the air while two men, identified as Owais and Saeed Khan, accompany her.

According to investigators, Owais initially fired several rounds before handing the weapon to Amna, guiding her hand as she discharged the firearm. Saeed reportedly urged them on, further escalating the recklessness of the act.

The video quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking outrage and calls for accountability. Karachi police confirmed that a case has been registered under Sections 324, 337-H(ii), 109, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

SHO Korangi stated that Amna Baig is currently in custody, and further investigation is ongoing. The incident has reignited public concern over the growing trend of glorifying firearms on social media.
