Shaan Shahid ‘a critic’ of Fawad Khan’s Punjabi accent

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pakistani veteran actor Shaan Shahid, who gained popularity in Lollywood movies for his versatility, has slammed superstar Fawad Khan for using a Punjabi accent in "The Legend of Maula Jatt."

As for the Punjabi language, Shaan Shahid said, "I personally believe that it is our traditional language and should not be held with tissue paper; it’s like a dress (pehnawa) and one has to carry it. There is no excuse for an actor to not know a language. Fawad spoke Punjabi and he was good in the movie, but his Punjabi accent lacked the tone, while Humaima Malick aced her dialogues with flying colors.

On the other hand, Shaan also extended his condolences over the death of the veteran actor, Afzaal Ahmed. “Afzaal Ahmed sb RIP . I started my career in bulandi & you sir guided me taught me to the universe of acting .. a fellow Atchisonian a great actor , passionate , seamless master of his craft indeed a great loss for Pakistan”, he added.

The Lollywood star, who continues to speak out on social issues, is getting inch-closer to having 700k followers on his Twitter handle.
