Dangal star Fatima Shaikh receives flak for swimsuit photo in Ramazan
She came under fire on social media for her sensual photo for magazine in the holy month
(Web Desk) – Dangal actress Fatima Sana Shaikh was criticised by religious hardliners for wearing swimsuit and posting its photograph during the holy month of Ramazan.
People called her dress ‘inappropriate’ and against the values of Islam. There were several negative comments on two of her Instagram saying ‘shame on you’. One particular comment read. “You should be ashamed of yourself for disrespecting the holy month of Ramazan”.
On the other hand, a majority of people disagreed with those who criticised her for the attire. Many defended Fatima Shaikh saying, “Don’t judge her by her clothing.”
“Fatima we are proud of you. People have no right to say you anything. It’s your life,” was another such response. Both groups went on to correct each other.
There have been various incidents in India where people have shamed the celebrities for their clothing. But it is interesting to see how the fans defend these sportsmen and Bollywood stars, and tell hate mongers to draw boundaries.
