(Web Desk) – The sorry state of public sector education in Sindh should be a matter of embarrassment for the Pakistan Peoples Party and its young chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

With the party failing to reflect on its performance in Sindh where it enjoys political support, it should be cause for concern for the PPP, according to Kamran Khan in his analysis over the state of education in the province. While Bilawal Bhutto has recently been seen reaching out to the public through political gatherings and jalsas, the party is rarely seen addressing concerns pertaining to its lack of performance in Sindh.

Different government and non-government reports, and surveys, indicate that in Sindh education standards are on the decline – something that should raise alarm. Alif Ailaan’s recent report on district education ranking indicates that out of all the provinces and regions it assessed, Sindh is better only next to FATA in education rankings.

Over the past 5 years, Rs. 600 billion have been spent on education in Sindh. But all of this investment failed to improve the education standards in the province.
