(Web Desk) – On Tuesday, normalcy returned to the Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad following police crackdown against protesting students after weeks of dispute between the university administration and student bodies.

On Monday, police arrested more than 100 students of the university as they protested and tried to stop academic activities following demands for the release of expelled students. According to Dunya News, as many as 41 protesters were detained initially with more being detained later in the day.

But on Tuesday morning, police officials told Dunya News that students who were detained for being involved in creating unrest on the university campus had been released. Classes continued amid heightened security with police officials deputed inside and on main entry and exit points.

However, scores of students continued to protest over the earlier expulsions by the administration as the university continued its academic activities.
