The HEC organised a send-off ceremony to Pakistani students for Cambridge University.

The contribution of Higher Education Commission Pakistan (HEC) is really commendable. The government of Pakistan shall continue to support and back various useful initiatives of HEC, said Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Pakistan Dr Nadeem-ul-Haq at the send-off ceremony of Pakistan scholars proceeding for higher education at Cambridge University UK.The ceremony was held here at HEC Islamabad. He emphasised over the selected scholars to take maximum advantage of their studies at best and renowned institutions of academically advanced countries expertise to address the various socio-economic problems being confronted by Pakistani society.Executive Director HEC Professor Dr Sohail H Naqvi informed that under joint collaboration between HEC and Cambridge Commonwealth Trust UK, each year 5 scholarships are being awarded to talented Pakistani students to acquire doctoral degree at Cambridge University UK and undertake research on the issues directly related to Pakistani society.It is hoped that these scholars would also contribute in assisting “Universities building economies, leadership and communities”, he added. He also highlighted the achievements and contribution of HEC since its inception in 2002. The Deputy British Commissioner, British High Commission Pakistan program would be greatly helpful in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries especially in higher education sector. She hoped that the selected scholars would contribute for the betterment of the society.She also congratulated the selected Pakistani scholars of the world and applies the knowledge and while presenting the overview of the program, Ms. Alison Blake in her remarks stated that the program would be greatly helpful in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries especially in higher education sector.
