Suspected outlaw arrested after 'encounter' in Bahawalnagar

BAHAWALNAGAR (Dunya News) - The Crime Control Department (CCD) has claimed to have arrested a wanted criminal after he was injured during an exchange of fire in Bahawalnagar, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

According to CCD officials, the suspect, identified as Naeem, was a history-sheeter and was allegedly involved in dozens of serious criminal cases, including robbery and other heinous offences.

Acting on intelligence, the CCD team conducted an operation during which the suspect opened fire, leading to a shootout.

As a result of the exchange of fire, Naeem sustained injuries and was taken into custody. He was later shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Officials said that a motorcycle, weapons and a stolen bike were recovered from the possession of the suspect. Meanwhile, two of his accomplices managed to escape from the scene during the operation.

CCD teams have launched raids in different areas to trace and arrest the fleeing suspects. Further investigation into the case is underway.
