LAHORE: (Dunya News) - Shadbagh Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a suspect for roaming around with weapons in a Dala, slang for Toyota Hilux Revo or Vigo pickups, during an operation.
City SP Atif Amir said the accused was roaming around in public with weapons despite a ban. During patrolling, Shadbagh police arrested the accused and recovered three rifles, 1 pistol, bullet magazines, ice and dieting pills from the accused.
The SP added the accused identified Amjad Akbar was using black Dala, which was also impounded. A case has been registered against him.
A ban has been imposed on notorious ‘Dala Culture’ — a growing trend involving heavily modified Toyota Hilux Revo and Vigo pickups used for reckless driving, intimidation, and public displays of power.
The term ‘Dala’ — slang for Toyota Hilux Revo or Vigo pickups — has become synonymous with influencer-led vehicle flaunting, often involving tinted windows, illegal modifications, pressure horns, LED light bars like police, and armed guards hanging from the rear.
