Three alleged thieves die of suffocation in PTCL manhole while stealing wire

According to police, six people wanted to steal PTCL wire from its manhole, but their theft attempt turned bloody.
MANDI BAHAUDDIN (Dunya News) – In a tragic turn of events, three suspected thieves died of suffocation in a PTCL manhole where they got down for allegedly stealing the wire, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.
According to police, six people wanted to steal PTCL wire from its manhole, but their theft attempt turned bloody.
Three of them got down to the manhole when its cover shut, leaving them trapped and suffocated before the external help reached.
The three suspects, who stayed out of the manhole have been arrested. The dead bodies were shifted to hospital for medicolegal procedures. Interrogation continued from the under custody suspects.

Earlier, two suspected thieves lost their lives in an attempt to steal Wapda transformers in separate incidents here on Tuesday.
In the first incident in Lumbers, a suburbs of Muridke, a suspected thief was burnt alive when he was trying to steal the transformer. He was identified as Khalid, son of Ashraf. His accomplice fled after the incident.
Having being informed, police reached the crime scene and started investigation after shifting the dead body to hospital. A manhunt was launched for the fleeing suspect.
