Sheikhupura youth rescued from police torture cell in ransom case

Sheikhupura police rescued Afzal from a police-led kidnapping-for-ransom case, arresting SI Nadeem, constable Amir, and accomplices after they demanded five lakh rupees for his release.
SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) - A young man, Afzal, who was abducted for a ransom of Rs0.5 million, has been safely recovered, authorities said.
According to police, SI Nadeem and dismissed constable Amir, along with other accomplices, kidnapped Afzal from his home in Kot Nadeem. The abductors also looted his mobile phone and jewelry and demanded a ransom of five lakh rupees for his release. After accepting an initial payment of one lakh rupees, they demanded the remaining amount.
The Child Crime Division (CCD) acted following a complaint from Afzal’s father, rescuing the youth and arresting the culprits while they attempted to collect the ransom. FIRs under Section 365-A for kidnapping for ransom were registered by Housing Colony and Bhikki police.
Police confirmed that SI Nadeem and constable Amir were involved in the crime along with seven others, and all were caught red-handed while taking the ransom.
