Suspected outlaw killed in Jaranwala CCD 'encounter'

JARANWALA (Dunya News) – A suspected outlaw involved in dozens of heinous crimes was killed during an exchange of fire with CCD police at Chak 99, here on Wednesday night.

The alleged hardcore criminal was identified as Qasim. He was taken to a location for recovery of weapons and looted valuables. In the meantime, his accomplices hiding roadside opened fire on police van.

Police also resorted to firing in their defence. During the shootout, the under-custody accused was injured from the firing of own accomplices. He was being taken to hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds on way to hospital.

His accomplices escaped taking advantage of darkness. Law enforcers have launched a manhunt for the fleeing outlaws. Police claimed that the dead outlaw was history-sheeter and wanted in many crimes. Further investigation was underway.
