Man throws acid on woman over her refusal to marry him

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A woman sustained severe burns in an acid attack when she refused to marry the man she did not like in Shahdra area here on Monday, Dunya News reported.
The police claimed to have apprehended the prime suspect of the assault along with his accomplice from Sialkot Airport when they were trying to flee abroad.
Police said accused Umer was adamant to marry the victim identified as Ayesha against her will.
On the day of the incident, Umer along with his accomplice riding a bike attacked Ayesha with an acid.
As a result, she was burnt badly and admitted to a nearby hospital in a precarious condition.
Ayesha is a teacher by profession. The accused and his accomplice targetted her when she was going to a school.
Police were recording statements from the family members of Ayesha to provide them justice.
An initial report suggested that the accused was frustrated and dismayed after being snubbed by the schoolteacher.
