(Web Desk) - The death of former DIG investigations Shariq Jamal Khan has taken a new twist as the relatives of the deceased have declared it a murder and sought a case against seven people including a woman. 

The former DIG was found dead in his flat in Ichhra some three months ago. The deceased's family told police that Shariq Jamal was poisoned to death. 

The death was declared murder and the Nishtar Colony police had registered a case on the request of Hania Shariq, daughter of Shariq Jamal Khan.

A case has been registered against seven people including a woman. They are Qaraatul Ain, Mansoor Elahi, Samiullah Niazi, Shoaib, Imran Javed Butt, Adeel and Sagheer.

The applicant told police that Shariq Jamal was poisoned to death. She told police that her father was receiving death threats and there were mobile phone messages as evidence. 

Before the murder on July 21, the victim discussed various issues with the family members. 

The mysterious death of Jamal was reported at 12:30 at night. It is stated in the FIR that after the murder, a safe was found open, domestic and foreign currency and important documents were missing.

It has been alleged that the woman committed the crime with the help of other accomplices.
