The CTD officials say nine members of TTP and four of Daesh are among those arrested
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday arrested 21 terrorists including nine members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and four of Daesh (ISIS) during intelligence based operations in different parts of the province.
The CTD officials said that the terrorists were involved in chalking out dangerous plans in different cities of Punjab including Lahore, Sargodha, Narowal, D. G Khan, Jehlum, Muzaffargarh, Gujranwala, Layyah, Attock and Sahiwal.
They claimed to have recovered explosive material, detonators, hand grenades and amount among many other things from their custody.
The terrorists were identified as Shahid, Amin, Gul Rehman, Azad, Ishaq, Javed, Mudassir, Isa, Shehbaz, Saif and others.
The officials registered FIR against them and started investigation.
The CTD conducted 700 combing operations across Punjab and took 49 suspects into custody. As many as 29829 people, the officials said, were questioned during the operations.
They added that the CTD was committed to root out the menace of terrorism from Punjab in a bid to ensure security and safety of the citizens.
