Three held for torturing man to death in Karachi
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Karachi police on Friday claimed to have arrested three people for the fatal attack on a man within a showroom located near Nagan Chowrangi.
This development follows the circulation of distressing footage on social media, depicting a group of men assaulting the victim, identified as Adeel. The video triggered public outrage, prompting calls for justice for the deceased and his family.
Central SSP Maroof Usman confirmed that the detained suspects were proprietors of the showroom and had a financial dispute with the victim. The suspects' identities are Ali and Ammar.
In a statement, the Sir Syed police announced that Ali and Ammar, along with an accomplice, were apprehended at a local eatery in North Karachi on Thursday.
According to the suspects' statements to police, the victim owed them a substantial amount of money, approximately Rs1.5-1.6 million, which he had not repaid over a considerable period.
The suspects revealed that they located Tanveer on Aug 8, took him to the car showroom, and subjected him to torture. The horrifying incident was also captured on video.
