KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Karachi Police claim to have achieved a breakthrough in case of a grenade attack on police mobile van on March 29, arresting two terrorists associated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF).
Malir SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi told a presser that the police had arrested two suspects, who were residing in Layari, for their "involvement" in a grenade attack on police mobile van within the jurisdiction of Shah Latif police station on March 29.
A person named Major Gohram Baloch had claimed responsibility of the incident on social media.
The SSP said the arrested suspects were planning more terrorist activities in Karachi. According to the police, the suspects had completed recce of different spots and were planning to attack a Chinese national in Karachi.
The suspects intended to sabotage CPEC projects and conduct a terrorist attack on the death anniversary of Shari Baloch -- a female suicide bomber who blew herself up at the Karachi of University.
The police claimed that suspects were working for a BLF commander Ali Hassan Sangu and had been in contact with him for the last eight months. The commander provided five grenades and Rs80,000 to the suspects. The police said commander Sangu has disappeared in Iran.
The suspects were also about to leave for training after two days and were supposed to get back by April 26.
