Minor girl found dead in manhole after being raped in Karachi

KARACHI (Web Desk) - Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a minor girl from a manhole a day after she had gone missing in Surjani Town.
Reports said that the girl, aged around six years, had gone missing after Iftar and was found in the sewerage manhole. It was assumed that she might have fallen into the manhole and died but the doctor confirmed that she had been subjected to criminal assault.
West Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Faisal Bashir Memon also confirmed the events but told that the family had not lodged a complaint about her disappearance. The SSP said he had directed the relevant SHO to lodge an FIR and initiate the proceedings.
