Karachi murder case: Female suspect undergoes physical remand
KARACHI (Dunya News) – According to reports, a woman allegedly killed a man and dismembered his body at an apartment on the Abdullah Haroon Road in the Saddar area within the limits of Preedy police station on Monday in Karachi.
The accused is identified as Rubab, she tore the man to pieces after killing him, the witnesses had noticed body parts lying outside of the flat and reported the incident to police, the woman slept peacefully after having killed the man in her apartment, police sources told.
According to SSP South Karachi Zubair Nazir Sheikh, Rubab is involved in the murder of 65 years old Sheikh Sohail (victim), Rubab had tortured and killed him. Rubab was dazed as if she was intoxicated and could not speak clearly.
Furthermore, Various tools have also been recovered from the possession of the woman. She was arrested from the crime scene with hands and clothes soaked in blood, SSP said.
Recent development
Rubab had confessed to her crime in a video statement and is currently in police custody on 4 days physical remand. Police will conduct a thorough investigation into the case, the SSP said.
Moreover, in a recent development to the case Rubab was presented befort the court. Investigating officer said that the accused have been changing her statement again and again therefore she should be sent on a physical remand.
The court remarked, "why was the case not handed over to a female police officer?" on which the prosecutor said it is a sensitive and critical case therefore it has been appointed to a male police officer.
Furthermore, Rubab will undergo DNA profiling to confirm that it was her who killed Sohail Sheikh. After DNA reports the case will reach to a final judgement.
