Arrested accused was continuously changing his residences and mobile numbers

KARACHI (APP) - Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested an absconder who was hiding since 8 years after registration of a case against him.

According to a spokesman for the Agency, the FIA State Bank Circle Karachi arrested Syed Zamin Raza in case no. 5/2013 registered against him about 8 years ago under sections of Foreign Exchange Regulation Act 1947.

Arrested accused was continuously changing his residences and mobile numbers to escape his arrest. He opened a bank account in his name which was being used for Hawala/Hundi. Transactions of about 60 million were done through the said account and his cheque book was also being used by others.

The accused was arrested by the FIA Karachi State Bank Circle’s special team, formed to apprehend absconders, led by Sub-Inspector Zakir Hussain.
