Karachi: Police arrest two suspects of gang-raping woman during robbery
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Police arrested two accused of gang-raping woman in Karachi during robbery at a wedding house after news of the incident was aired on Dunya News.
Police officials came into action after news of alleged gang-rape of a mother of three children was aired on Dunya News during a robbery at a wedding house in Karachi. Two accused were arrested in an operation near Lyari Expressway. The victim identified both suspects.
According to details preparations for wedding were underway at the victim s home. The armed accused disguised as policemen entered the house, assaulted the family members and raped the victim at gunpoint in Surjani Taiser Town on January 7.
After the news was aired on Dunya News senior police officials, including the DIG and SSP, met the family of the victim and had assured them of speedy arrest of the accused.
According to SSP West Sahai Aziz, victim identified both arrested accused Tariq and Obaid.
According to the victim, accused took 50,000 cash and half tola of gold which was kept for the wedding. Two accused raped her and fled after staying in the house for 2 hours.
