Karachi: Suspects of gang-raping woman during robbery still at large
23 days have been passed since the incident
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Police officials came into action after news of alleged gang-rape of a mother of three children was aired on Dunya News during a robbery at a wedding house in Karachi. Other senior officials, including the DIG and SSP, met the families of the victims and assured them of speedy arrest of the accused.
According to the details, the incidents of sexual abuse, theft and robbery in Karachi could not be stopped. After alleged gang-rape of a woman on the Lahore Motorway, a mother of three was also gang-raped in Karachi.
Preparations for wedding were underway at the victim s home. The armed accused disguised as policemen entered the house, assaulted the family members and raped the victim at gunpoint.
23 days have passed since the incident, but the accused are still at large. When the news of the tragic incident was broadcasted on Dunya News yesterday, senior police officers took action, met the victim s family and assured the family of the arrest of the accused.
Investigators said that the raids were carried out to arrest the suspects in the light of family statements, during which few suspects were detained.
It is suspected that the accused are residents of the area. Police will receive woman’s DNA report in couple of days.
