Girl gang-raped by armed robbers on motorway bridge in Farooqabad
SHEIKHUPURA (Dunya News) - A young girl was gang raped by three armed men during robbery on the motorway bridge in Farooqabad.
According to details, the victim was travelling in a rickshaw with her family. The robbers tied the family with ropes and raped the girl.
Police have registered a case of robbery and rape against the unidentified accused and arrested four suspects while other aspects of the incident are also being investigated.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim s family was returning home with the bride and groom when they were stopped by three armed suspects near the motorway bridge. The accused raped the girl after snatching cash and a mobile phone.
Taking notice of the tragic incident, IG Punjab has sought a report from the police officers within 24 hours.
There are reports that a woman was gang-raped while traveling in the same area two months ago.
