International fraudsters posing as US Special Forces officer arrested by FIA
FAISALABAD (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing of Faisalabad has taken action against an international gang for committing fraud and honey-trapping on Facebook. The gang, posing as a female US Special Forces officer on social media, has now been arrested by FIA.
According to Assistant Director Cyber Crime Sharib Ahmed Haroon, the accused told Sharif, a resident of Bhakkar, that they were sending him $600,000 by parcel to Islamabad.
Later on, Rs 2,950,000 was demanded from Sharif through multiple Pakistani bank accounts at different times as customs duty. On identification of the victim, Sikandar Ali (Pakistani), Robert (Pakistani), Bright (Pakistani) and Charles (Nigerian) were arrested in a raid in E-11 sector of Islamabad.
A case against the accused has been registered while further interrogation and investigation is underway.
