Nine persons killed for honor in Multan.

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Nine persons were killed for honor in Multan’s Hassanabad area and three sustained injuries, Dunya News reported on Monday.

According to details, the prime suspect namely Ajmal recently returned from Saudi Arabia and suspected his wife’s character which initiated the dispute.

Ajmal – along with his father and another accomplice – opened fire killing two of his in-laws. The accused then locked his wife, children and sisters-in-laws in a room and set them on fire.

The women and children in the room were burnt alive.




Ajmal’s wife Kiran, daughter Maryam, mother-in-law Tasleem Bibi, sisters-in-law Saima, Asma and Roma, and sister-in-law’s daughter were the victims.

The police shifted the burnt dead bodies and the wounded to the Nishtar Hospital.

Multan CPO Imran Mehmood talked to media and informed that Ajmal was a tailor in Saudi Arabia and had suspicions about his wife’s character.

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan directed the authorities to take strict action according to the law against the culprits. The police have arrested Ajmal and his father.
