FIA busts group involved in child pornography, 19 teenagers recovered

I wanted to earn dollars for my family, a recovered child told media.

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday thwarted bid of a group--involved in human trafficking and child pornography--to smuggle 19 teenagers aging 12 to 19 years to Europe, Roznama Dunya reported.

As per details garnered, FIA carried out a raid in Mianwali on secret tip off and recovered 19 children from a bus. The driver of the bus was also arrested. The recovered children hail from Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin.

During investigation, the bus driver told officials that children were to be smuggled to Europe via Iran and Turkey where they would be forced to work in the pornographic videos. FIA officials said relatives of the recovered children would also be included in the investigation.

In a startling revelation, FIA officials learned that children were sold by to the human traffickers by none other than their poverty-riddled families for just Rs1.5 lakh each.

Recovered children were also produced before media. To a question, a child responded that “he wanted to earn dollars for his family by working in pornographic videos”.
