Perpetrators at large two days after raped body of Faisalabad girl recovered

A woman student's body was recovered two days ago in a canal near a Faisalabad locality.

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Perpetrators in rape and murder case of a woman student enrolled with Government College University (GCU) remain at large two days after victim’s body was recovered in Gogera Branch Canal near Dajkot.

Abida, a student with GCU was abducted before her body was identified two days ago. Preliminary probe revealed that she was raped and choked to death.

Reportedly, police have sacked Station House Officer (SHO) at Gulberg Police Station after Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the incident however, the law enforcers have failed to nab culprits days into the tragedy.

Civil society has pursued a social media campaign titled ‘Justice for Abida’ citing distress across classes of society caused by such incidents.
