SHC seeks reply from DG Rangers, others over surge in Karachi street crimes
The plaintiff said that Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) doesn't block such cell phones.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought explanation from Director General Rangers Major General Mohammad Saeed and Sindh Inspector General (IG) A.D Khawaja over increasing street crimes in Karachi.
A plea was submitted in the court in which, it was stated that the criminal activities are on rise in the metropolis and that stolen mobile phones are being sold under the supervision of the police.
The plaintiff said that Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) doesn’t block such cell phones.
Subsequently, the court has directed Chief Secretary Sindh, DG Rangers, Sindh IG, CPLC Chief and all deputy inspector generals to submit their reply till Jan 10.
