Security agencies search Sammiya who came to light after confession of arrested terrorist

KARACHI (Dunya News) – After the recent episode in which university student Noreen Laghari had joined terrorist organisation Islamic State (IS) and later confessed to her crime, another case has been reported in which similar incidents occurred.

Security agencies are in search of Islamabad-based Sammiya after arrested terrorist Khalilur Rehman confessed about her during interrogation. The girl deleted all her IDs after the arrest of Khalil and has remained disappeared since then.

Sammiya taught in a madrassa based in Islamabad. She was looking forward to join IS and moving to Khorasan. Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) got a lead on her after the confessions of Khalil who specifically mentioned her name.

Khalil provided the details related to the woman and told that she was in his contact with him before his arrest. Khalil was arrested by FIA’s anti-terrorism wing. The arrested terrorist used to brainwash young minds into joining IS through online platforms.

It was confessed that Sammiya told Khalil about her plans of going to Khorasan. The security agencies are currently running investigation to trace her. Sources told that FIA is also looking into her alleged travel to Saudi Arabia.

Khalil confessed during his interrogation that IS also teaches young extremists regarding how to keep their identity in disguise using online tricks. They are taught how to use techniques including VPN and running browsers through bots.

Earlier, MBBS student Noreen Laghari - who was reported missing in Hyderabad in February and detained in a counter-terror operation last week in Lahore - had revealed that she was to execute a suicide bombing on the occasion of Easter. Pakistan Army spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor Bajwa aired her confessional video during April this year in which she admitted that she was not abducted but had pledged allegiance to the outlawed organisation with consent.
