Punjab witnesses reduction in crime rate
A prominent increase was observed in child kidnapping incidents.
LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – An apparent decrease has been witnessed in crime rate during 2016 as compared to 2015 in Punjab.
According to a report, police have recovered more than one billion stolen rupees by arresting 9177 criminals belonging to 3006 groups.
It was also learnt that 39 percent decrease has been reported in dacoity incidents as 923 complaints were filed in 2016.
Murder over resistance has been reduced by 21 percent, car theft lessened by 22 percent and killing by 9 percent as 4081 people were murdered in 2016.
Vandalism diminished by 25 percent whereas sectarian issues were completely eliminated in the province.
On the other hand, 235 extortion cases have been registered whereas a prominent increase was observed in child kidnapping incidents.
