4 policemen were martyred in Quetta in two separate firing incidents

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Four Frontier Corps (FC) officers were martyred on Wednesday after unidentified gunmen opened fire at the Double Road in Quetta, reported Dunya News.

One passerby also got injured as a result of the firing. Police and FC contingents reached the area after the incident and initiated a search operation after cordoning off the area.

Rescue teams transferred the bodies of the martyred to the Civil Hospital. The martyred officers were identified as Lance Naik Ateeq-ur-Rehman, Sepoy Mohammad Sharif, Naik Mohammad Azam and Lance Naik Tanveer.

Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Nawab Sanaullah Zehri condemned the attack and stated that the terrorists intended to spread fear in the public by carrying out such activities, further stating that all such attempts of the terrorists would be foiled.

Zehri said that peace was established in the province as a result of the sacrifices made by the security officials, adding that the stability achieved in Balochistan will not allowed to be sabotaged. “Antisocial elements and the terrorists would be crushed will all might,” he said.
