CM Shehbaz takes notice of blind woman's rape in Layyah
CM Punjab ordered immediate arrest of the culprits and directed to submit report.
LAYYAH (Dunya News) – Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday has taken notice of blind woman’s rape in Layyah and summoned report from District Police Officer (DPO) as early as possible.
Blind and an acid attack victim woman was gangraped on the pretext of giving compensation money in Layyah. She was abandoned at a deserted location. Locals of the area gathered upon hearing her cries and took her to Kot Sultan police station.
CM Punjab ordered immediate arrest of the culprits and directed to submit report. He also pledged support with the victim and her family and assured justice to them.
It is pertinent to mention here that a 35-year-old woman also suffered an acid attack 12 years ago due to which she lost her sight and also left her face burnt.
Moroever, police personnel have launched an investigation into the matter.
