Lahore: Police take 25 suspects into custody in separate raids

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Police officers on Tuesday arrested as many as 25 suspects in different operations in Lahore.

According to details, the Lahore police operation wing in 24 hours apprehended as many as 25 criminals after registering cases under possession of illegal weapons and drugs provisions.

The personnel have also confiscated huge cache of arms from the detainees.

Cases were also filed in Sound System Act under Tenancy Act of National Action Plan (NAP) while 17 suspects belonging to eight gangs were also taken into custody.

Two wanted criminals and two persons under one-wheeling case were also held during the operation.

The policemen assured to continue the crackdown against the culprits. 

Earlier, law enforcers on late Monday night nabbed two dacoits from Islampura area of Lahore and recovered four pistols from the possession of the robbers.

Two felons were busy in looting whereupon they came in contact with a police official. The officer attempted to stop the suspects upon which they opened fire. However, the police officer managed to capture the felons with the help of local residents.

The arrested suspects were wanted by the police for their involvement in various crimes.

On the other hand, police officials tortured two brothers, Naeem and Kaleem, near Sukh Canal stop. Family of the brothers protested against the alleged police brutality outside the Bhagwanpura police station.
