Pakistan qualify directly for T20 World Cup 2028 after emphatic win against Namibia

COLOMBO (Web Desk) - Pakistan secured direct qualification for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2028 after progressing to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the eight teams that reached the Super 8 phase of the 2026 edition have automatically qualified for the 2028 tournament.
The 2028 T20 World Cup will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand and will feature 20 teams.
As co-hosts, Australia also secured automatic qualification.
Other teams to have confirmed their places include India, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, South Africa and West Indies.

In addition, the three highest-ranked teams in the ICC T20I rankings as of March 9 will also earn direct qualification.
However, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Ireland are not among those automatic qualifiers at this stage.
The remaining eight spots in the 20-team tournament will be decided through regional qualifiers.
It is worth noting that Pakistan confirmed their Super 8 berth in the 2026 T20 World Cup after registering a commanding 102-run victory over Namibia, a win that also guaranteed their participation in the 2028 mega event.
