Pakistan to face Sri Lanka in first ODI today

 RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan will meet Sri Lanka in the first of the three-match One-day International (ODI) series here at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The Green Shirts, fresh from a series against South Africa, look to demolish the Islanders in the series. They will play a T20 International series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe from November 17.

Both the teams had practice session on Monday.

Meanwhile, match officials for the upcoming ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been announced. Ali Naqvi will be serving as the match referee in the series from November 11 to 15.

The match officials for the series:

First ODI:

On-field umpires: Alexander Roarv and Asif Yaqoob

Third umpire: Saikat Sharafud-Dowla

Fourth umpire: Rashid Riaz

Second ODI:

Earlier, newly-appointed ODI captain Shaheen Afridi said that Pakistan won an ODI series at home against South Africa for the first time.

He revealed that he accepted the captaincy after consulting with veteran Mohammad Rizwan.

Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka praised Pakistan’s hospitality, saying the hosts have been excellent, and noted that Pakistan performed well against South Africa.
